Before the Reiki Session
- 15 minute consultation before the Reiki session
- Reiki is most beneficial to people who are receptive and relaxed. Try to schedule your session for a time when you do not have other stressful events planned. If possible, give yourself time to unwind for at least a 15-20 minutes before your session.
- Wear comfortable, loose clothing and either wear or bring socks since shoes are removed during the session and your feet can get cold
- Drink lots of water the day prior and day off as energy healing can be quite intense even though you may not be feeling much you need to stay hydrated at all times
- Avoid eating a heavy meal beforehand, as you don’t want all of your body’s energy to be directed toward digesting while you’re receiving your treatment.
- Avoid alcohol and/or recreational drugs at least 2 days prior to the Reiki session.
During the Reiki Session
- You will be asked to sit or lie down on a massage table in a quiet room where there are no interruptions. This should be comfortable and relaxing, so if you feel uncomfortable do not be afraid to speak up and interrupt the session.
- Soft music will be playing during the session as a way of masking ambient noise, but let me know if you prefer silence.
- My spirit guide Ping utilizes my body and performs the healing. He will guide me, placing my hands in various positoins on and above your body for a few minutes at a time while sending healing energy. I will also communicate any messages from Ping during the session if agreed upon during our consultation.
- You may feel different sensations throughout your body like warm, cold, tingling, or just more calm and relaxed. It’s also common to feel nothing, but that does not mean nothing is happening you are just not aware of it as the energy is working at a deep level. Allow whatever it is that your feeling to flow out as this is all part of the cleansing process.
- Take note of any thoughts or feelings that may come to you during the healing time as these often relate to something the healing energy may be working with within your mind and body. Allow whatever it is that your feeling to flow out as these thoughts or feelings can often be very emotional. This helps you to release old blocks which is all part of the cleansing process.
After the Reiki Session
- 15 minutes after the Reiki session for discussion & feedback
- Many of the treatment benefits can occur as soon as after the session is over. It’s important to find somewhere quiet and relaxing for at least 15-20 minutes after the session to meditate, lie down, go for a walk in nature or even take a nap. Try not to book or schedule anything immediately after your session.
- After doing any type of energy work it’s important to hydrate, so be sure to drink 1-2 glasses of water after your session. I find adding electrolytes to your water can also be helpful, as it helps to replenish the body.
- Energy work is often hungry work, and you may find yourself hungry immediately after your session. Be sure you listen to your body and choose a healthy snack or meal afterward if needed. Eating can also help ground the body and as a bonus, you may find that a piece of dark chocolate be quite restorative.
